July 13th, Sunday: Land in Baku (flights explained at the end). You’ve landed in a country that is tucked between the Caspian Sea surrounded by the old and the new, it is a mystery that it waiting for you to explore it! Reach the hotel, rest up after the travel. We have a lot to do in the coming week! O/N Baku
July 14th, Monday: Forget Monday blues, explore Baku! This city can’t be named without the Hyedar Aliyev Cultural centre – a hub for artists and their work, you’ll be mesmerized by the distinctive flowing architecture. As Azerbaijan is the “Land of Fire” let’s also check out its unique Flame Towers. After marvelling over the modern, it’s time we treat your imaginative minds to the past, no? Enter the 15th century as we visit the Palace of the Shirvanshahs – where history and mythology come alive! The evening is reserved for Nizami Street where vibrant markets to cafes are the backdrop to get to know your fellow travellers. O/N at Baku
July 15th, Tuesday: Love the mountains? Be prepared to love this day! We’re whisking you away to Shahdag, a drive across the country side and changing landscapes brings us to Shahdag Mountain Resort. Not only is it beautiful but it also where the kid in you will get unleashed! A roughly 2600mts long rollercoaster, paragliding, zorbing, paintball, quad biking – there a range of activities for you to choose from and let loose! Next, welcome to the Greater Caucasus mountain range – yes, we’re going to the Candy Cane mountains. A unique rocky terrain coloured in red and white, undoubtedly quite the unique sight. O/N Shahdag
July 16th, Wednesday: Time travel may not exist yet but we sure can take a step into another era, can’t we? A visit to Azerbaijan’s oldest settlement, a place that has its own unique language and cultural traditions and dates back to 5,000 years ago! Xinaliq (MM&Co. special) is the land of the children of the historical Noah. Myths tracing every turn, precariously stacked houses and mountain backdrops will play on your mind while the clouds tumble down the hilly slopes. Evening, back at Baku. O/N Baku
July 17th, Thursday: Curious kids that we are, today, we shall explore some natural wonders of Azerbaijan! Such as the undying 700 years old flame at Yanar Dag which has coined for itself the name of the Burning Mountain. At the Gobustan National Park we’ll be amazed by the mud volcanoes where gas and mud come errupting out of the Earth’s surface! Just like our ever bubbling itch to explore the mud here continues to bubble. So, explore it all with your new friends as we swap stories and make memories together. O/N Baku
July 18th, Friday: Gabala calling! Let the nature lover in you rejoice as you witness Tufandag in all its green glory. To take it a notch above we also have the Nohur Lake where you’ll just want to sit, stare into the waters and forget all your worries for a while. A picture perfect end, isn’t it?
